The Velo Lab Kàro is an innovative, lightweight, and perfectly balanced cargo bike. Highlights include its low weight starting at 16.5 kg, sophisticated cable steering with a 180-degree steering angle, and the optional Neodrive rear motor paired with a Pinion transmission.

The cargo bike is available in two frame variants (Short & Long) and three frame sizes (Small, Standard, Large).

For 2022, Velo Lab is expanding the Kàro model range with a sporty and particularly lightweight gravel version (small loading area). With this wide range of options in terms of equipment, frame shapes, and loading area design, the Kàro is perfectly adaptable to your intended use.

In summary, the Velo Lab Kàro is an independent and highly customizable cargo bike “Made in Bremen”.

About Velo Lab

For us, Velo Lab stands out for its passion for cycling. The two founders, Stathis Stasinopoulos and Jap Kellner, are dedicated cyclists and develop various types of bicycles together: the name Velo Lab reflects its mission. Since 2017, a small team of currently 12 employees has been building your dream bike for urban mobility.

At Velo Lab, you as a customer can actively participate by accommodating special customization requests, be it a special paint job or add-on parts: as long as they're available, almost anything is possible. The Bremen-based bicycle manufacturer combines the joie de vivre and relaxed atmosphere of the southern region around Athens with German craftsmanship: a perfect symbiosis of passion and precision.

Innovations Velo Lab Kàro 2022

Velo Lab makes no compromises with its name and is continuously developing its cargo bike. Highlights of the 2022 model year include the new cable steering with integrated guides on the headset and curved frame tubes that now enclose the cargo area. This new design was tested in 2021 with the also new Gravel Kàro frame and, after extensive testing, was introduced for 2022. This makes the frame even more stable and, in combination with the new cable steering, gives it a clean and very attractive new look.

Velo Lab Gravel Kàro 2022

The Velo Lab Kàro Gravel is based on the "standard" Kàro Short. Compared to the Short, the Gravel features an adapted geometry that is even more sporty. The frame and components have been made lighter, allowing for a cargo bike starting at 16.5 kg. Combined with the new curved tubes, which will be standard on all models starting in 2022, the result is a very sporty and lightweight cargo bike. More details coming soon in our blog.
